A fast launch onto Tesco Marketplace, with automation built in and space to grow
A modernised user experience with a fresh, brand-aligned design
About Ink Jungle
Ink Jungle is one of the UK’s leading independent resellers of HP inkjet cartridges, with a group turnover of more than £22 million. Founded in 2009, they built their reputation on fast, reliable delivery and high customer satisfaction across Amazon, eBay, and their own BigCommerce site.
Their focus is simple: make it easy for people to get genuine ink, fast — with service that goes above marketplace standards.
In this project we delivered:
Getting clear on the goal
We already had a strong relationship with Ink Jungle, so we hit the ground running with a focused discovery session. The aim was to understand exactly what Tesco needed and what would get Ink Jungle selling fast.
We recommended an integration approach that connected their systems and aligned with Tesco’s technical standards. The biggest blocker was product data. Tesco’s listing rules are strict, and Ink Jungle’s catalogue needed work.
We worked closely with their team to review and rework the master product data so it met Tesco’s requirements. We also took time to understand how the Tesco Marketplace platform (powered by Marketplacer) operates, so our recommendations were built on facts, not guesswork.
This was translated into four key objectives
Deliver a B2B eCommerce website built to best practice standards to increase speed and integrate all key data flows into Orderwise to reduce manual input.
Increase the visibility of C & A Building Products in search engines by improving organic search rankings for key terms, aiming for a 20% increase in rankings in the first 12 months.
Increase conversion rate on the website by 15% through ongoing analysis using conversion rate optimisation techniques.
Integrate the website with third-party tools to improve marketing and SEO and effectively manage customer relationships. Automating these processes to reduce manual data entry errors and lighten the workload for the internal team.

How we did it
We connected Ink Jungle’s BigCommerce store to Tesco using Marketplacer’s standard API, and linked Tesco to Linnworks to keep their order process fully automated.
The biggest task was the product data. Tesco has strict listing rules, and every product has to meet them. That meant checking and updating thousands of items before anything could go live. We prioritised getting the data right from the start so that the launch would run smoothly.
Ongoing support
After launch, we stayed involved to fix listing issues and help more products go live. There’s still more to do, but Ink Jungle is now in a strong position to grow.
Selecting the right platform: Magento 2
We guided C & A Building Products through our proven platform selection framework, ensuring they landed on a solution that would support their long-term ambitions. Magento emerged as the best fit, offering the flexibility, scalability, and B2B-focused features needed to future-proof their eCommerce operations
Magento 2 Build: Migrate the existing functionality of the eCommerce website to Magento to build a reliable base for the automation of processes and integration of platforms. The Orderwise integration was split into separate projects for budget transparency and development efficiency.
Systems Integration: Implement an Orderwise integration to sync products, stock, customers, companies, credit, and orders, ensuring Magento reflects the master data maintained in Orderwise.
Website Launch Strategy: Develop a detailed launch plan to ensure a smooth transition for customers from the previous eCommerce software to Magento, using email marketing to manage the process.
SEO and Marketing Tools: Develop a comprehensive SEO strategy to achieve growth objectives, implementing SEMRush and providing training to the C & A team.
